The Foundation is proposing to offer new homes to mostly, but not exclusively, single people of all ages. The location in Clophill will be near the A6 in Back Street. These new woodland homes will be confined to the bed of the old quarry, leaving the remaining 15 acres of woodland as it is today, but properly maintained.
The layout is being led by an experienced landscape architect, an ecologist and an arboriculturist. The Foundation's design team have then developed an architectural style that sits comfortable in this woodland setting. This entirely new housing model has been developed to deliver net carbon zero homes, homes that are appealing to own, homes and facilities that enable a community of all ages to come together.

Why is it important to Clophill
The Foundation's proposal responds to the unfairness that exists for those people that provide our social care and are saving lives in the front line of the NHS. It will give them the opportunity to have pride in a home of their own.
For many hard working young people it is impossible to buy a home of their own outright. The Foundation will provide this opportunity for those young people living in Clophill to own their own home.
Of those aged 50 to 69 over 60% were previously married. By encouraging single mid-life people to live in this new multigenerational community it will release some of the family homes they live in now.
The Foundation will provide an entirely new option for older people. The Foundation suite: a home of their own with hotel services. A real alternative to going into a care home. A spacious one-bedroom apartment fully serviced and including a “full board” package of food with a daily maid service.
